Dominique’s 'Tourbillion Paintings' were realized between November 2019 and March 2020, while she was still grieving the loss of her father. The work accurately reflects her sense of shock and a search to re-anchor her psychic center. Unlike much of her prior painting, which contains gestural under-painting that resolves with either a radially symmetrical device, or other geometric compositions, here those measured overlays are absent. These paintings led immediately to the "Pandemic Paintings" portfolio.
